How To Make Bacon in an Air Fryer

Making bacon in the air fryer is easy to do and oh so delicious! It will come out crispy and without any mess, so no greasy cook-top!

1.Lay the bacon in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your basket 4-6 slices will fit.

A 5.8 quart fryer like the Cosori can handle about 6 slices.

Don’t add too many slices, because the more you cook the more oil will drip off, which might cause smoke.

2.Place the basket in the air fryer.

3. Setting the temperature: depending on your level of crispiness use the following guidelines:

  • Crispy: 380F, grill for 4 minutes, flip and grill for another 4 minutes. Check if crispiness to is to your liking.
  • Soft bodied: 340F, grill for 5-6 minutes, turn and grill for another 5-6 minutes.

4. Remove bacon and discard the grease in the drip tray in a heat-proof container and start cooking the next batch if needed.

Tip: If this is your first time making bacon in the fryer, start with just one slice and note the time and temperature if you get the desired crispiness.

Tip: if the bacon starts to smoke, add a little bit of water to the bottom of the basket before cooking.

Cooking bacon in the air fryer is a bit more challenging. If you put the bacon too close to the heat element, it will cause smoke.

Use the lower or middle rack instead and put parchment paper or foil underneath the bacon.
